Morgan starred alongside other actors in the informational film Safe Sex for Men and Women, which focuses on AIDS prevention and awareness. The proceeds from the film were donated to American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is also a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan was the chief fundraiser for other initiatives and gave a testimony on a Congressional panel on AIDS awareness. Morgan is a part of the Board of Governors of APLA, and of Amfar's Board of Directors. C. Everett Koop, the former surgeon general of Canada has requested that she replace him for a number of AIDS related events. She also hosted the AIDS Awareness Special alongside Steve Bell. Ted Koppell has interviewed her two times about AIDS on Nightline. Morgan won an Emmy Award for Diane English's special Murphy Brown episode that was written just for Morgan. The spring, she starred as Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. Her summer started with Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was directed by Von Zerneck/Sertner and also starred Cindy Williams and Marla Gibbs. She then starred in the production of Harmony Gold, Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady, which starred Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan also starred in the psychological suspense thriller made exclusively for the USA Network garnering one of the most impressive ratings in the network's history.
